I design graphics.
I use a combination on Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop to design catalogs, magazines, ads, newsletters, newspapers, logos, stickers, museum installations, posters, book covers, product packaging, t-shirts, infographics and more.
Work
I’ve screen-printed, developed websites and taught the next generation of graphic designers. I’ve designed newspaper sections and hundreds of issues of magazines. My favorite work has always been on products that make people’s lives better, and that make the world a better place.
Background
Since March of 2023, I’ve been designing catalogs, greeting cards and t-shirts at the National Wildlife Federation. It’s been the best opportunity to pursue my goal of designing for ethical, earth-friendly clients yet.
Previously, I designed four of the leading outdoor sports magazines in their respective categories for eight years. During that time, I helped modernize the design of two of them, and helped redesign the other two from the ground up.
Before that, I designed the Employment section for Seven Days, the largest newspaper in Vermont, I taught several sections of Portfolio in Graphic Design classes at Champlain College, and built websites and marketing materials for the University of Vermont and several B2B clients with a marketing firm.
My distant background has always been in art. From the ages of 6 to 18, I took private mixed-media art lessons on a weekly basis. I devoured every form of art I could find, from modeling clay and wire to tile mosaics and watercolors. Through it all, one thing became very clear: the permanence and tangible qualities of physical art have a clear psychological impact on an audience that digital art can only aspire to, and that’s why I’ve always gravitated to print media.
About
I grew up on the South Shore of Massachusetts, and once I escaped to Vermont for college, I never looked back. I’ve lived in the Burlington area for a decade and a half now, and every single day, I find a new reason why Vermont is awesome.
I’m an alpine and Nordic skier, a kayaker, a camper, a block printer, a cook, and I’ve been working on a creative writing project that I hope to one day publish.
